This blog carried me, calmed me, connected me to others and to something larger than myself through cancer and the bone marrow transplant that saved my life. I still post here occasionally as I continue to recover and cope and hope through the resultant Graft vs. Host Disease.

My daughter, Lyla, and I travel as frequently as possible to as many beautiful places as possible. Our favorite destination? Any national park. In all of our visits, though, we’ve never seen really great collectibles for kids - collectibles that are both educational and incredibly fun. Our Joe the Marmot book series with attached park-specific collectible figurines rectify tragic lack. We are currently seeking representation for this project. This blog contains the stories that shape and inform my presence in the world as I work to fit the pieces together every single day. It’s about what matters most to me as a mom of both biological and adoptive children. It’s about what matters to me as a human as I wrestle with faith, friendships, and family. It’s about my own mess, my acceptance of that mess, and my own messy hope for something better. I write these words to/for me but also to and for my children and my grandchildren and friends and those I have yet to call friends in hope that they know they are never, ever alone in this life…May they stand on the shoulders of my words and see further than I ever dreamt of seeing.
